President Obama is addressing the Joint Session of Congress tonight on the Nation’s economy. As you all know, GBTA believes a healthy business travel industry is a key ingredient to our economic recovery. And a major component of that is a safe and efficient air traffic control (ATC) system. However, Congress has been unable to come to a long term agreement on the Federal Aviation Administration’s reauthorization bill. That bill contains the blue print for upgrading our ATC from World War II-era technology to a GPS-based system that will save fuel, improve safety and increase capacity. It is time to bring this technology into the 21st Century!
GBTA urges President Obama to call on Congress to pass this bill!
